Thankyou, I had a feeling it was separation issues but was also thinking along the lines of it being exacerbated with puberty? I have a vet behaviourist going to give me a call back in the next few days so hopefully I will get some sort of plan in place and we can sort this :)

An update on rays tail
Just thought i'd update you guys....we took ray back to the vet and they checked out his tail, told me it was dislocated....:(:(:(:( nothing else they can do but take the tip of it off.

Yes eggs are fine, we give ray eggs every morning they are a brilliant source of protein - we eaither boil them or scramble them with goats milk as dogs cant digest normal milk properly - he will also devour - as a treat - rice pudding!
We moved twice in a few months - The first time it affected Rays diet, but the second he was fine....
What I did was cut his walks out or down, if he's not eating and walking he will lose more weight - wait until he has gotten in to a routine before long walks or runs.

Ray is 10 months old and 40kg!!!!!!
Hes not fat, still has his ribs etc but he comes up almost to my hips and im 5'5! When he is up on his hind legs giving me a cuddle he's taller than me!!! Very strong boy!!!
Must be that RAW diet - he bloody eats better than I do!! haha!!

Just an update on Rays tail....I shaved the tail so the bandage will stay and that is working well - we have had the bandage on for almost 24 hours, it has burst in that time as the bandage is stained, but we're keeping it on regardless just to stop infection....

I also knew of one person who made a padded "sock" that she attached to the tail opening of a doggie diaper. SnuggEase Reusable Dog Diapers She'd wrap the wound with a light gauze and slip the tail into the sock part and then put the diaper on. It kept the bandage on and the wound protected...
I am going to shave the end of tonight thats a great idea, was toying about it for a bit but you just reminded me. Once i shave the tail i'll let you know if the bandage manages to stay on better, do you think carpeting the walls will help? seems funny but i may just have to go out and find some...
Ray does this, its gotten so bad his tail burst open, you only have to look his direction and its Mr Jiggle but for about half an hour......he may have to get his tail off but do a search for boxer kidney beaning....youtube!
