    Terrible Teenage Stage????

I also have a 8.5 month old and recently he's been exhibiting separation anxiety. He's been crated while we are at work since he was a little pup, same routine, and all of a sudden he doesn't want to go in his crate anymore, whines for no apparent reason, etc. The only thing that I can think...

    I have a dilema (long)

I would definitley recommend that you get a boy if you have a girl. I have a male boxer and a female rottie and they get along great!! Usually it is recommended that you get the opposite sex of what you have to avoid fights. I do however know people that have 2 females that get along fine. I...

    Stinky Boy!!!

I would use the Puppy Bath Wipes, they are especially for pups, sensitive on the skin, and they smell great. You can get them in different scents. I prefer baby powder. It'll help with his stinkies.

    Male or female?

I have a male boxer and female rottie, they are 3 weeks apart. I can't comment on female boxers but as far as male boxers they are awesome. My Romeo is more of a daddy's boy although he loves me tons. He absolutely adores his daddy, follows him everywhere, looks at him when he's fixing things...

    Conjunctivitis

My boxer never had it but my female rottie actually got it. Her's lasted for about a week or so and the vet gave us some ointment to put on her eyes a couple times a day and it cleared up. I'm assuming that she may have gotten it from some bacteria or virus or maybe even allergies or weather...

To breed or not to breed

Any "breeder" that insists on breeding a dog that has come from a litter with serious health problems is just out for money instead of the welfare of those puppies. Do not breed!!

    Neutering - What age?

I have a 8 month old intact boy. We have decided not to neuter him at 6 months because he had HOD (Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy), which are growing pains. He was in lots of pain and was lame for about a week. Thankfully is is doing much better now and has not had any episodes for a while...

    Weight/Size for a 7month old Pup

My pup Romeo just turned 7 months today. I took him to the vet for a checkup this weekend and he is already 59lbs. I don't know exactly how tall he is, but he is not obese, he looks good. The thing is that everytime I see another boxer either Romeo's age or a month or two younger than him...

    6month old Puppy Size

My puppy just turned 6 months and weighed in at 51 lbs. We think that he lost weight because he was 49 lbs. about a month ago but was diagnosed with HOD and he didn't eat as much as normal so he probably lost weight and then put on a few pounds. We switched him to adult food to slow down his...

    how big should he be??

Romeo is 49lbs at 5 months, he was around 40 lbs at 4 months but he's a big boy. You should be happy that he's smaller because we have a lot of health problems with Romeo because of his bones growing so fast. Just enjoy him the way he is and he'll turn out just fine.

    Cheering up a Sad Puppy

Pup Yeah, he is on pain meds so it's helping him out some but he's still very sore and can't stand at all by himself. Thanks, I'll check out the link and hope it helps him.

    Cheering up a Sad Puppy

Sad Pup Thanks for the reply. I never thought about getting him a fish but that sounds like a great idea, I think I'll buy him one tomorrow. I usually pet and hold him and I'll start giving him some massages.

    Cheering up a Sad Puppy

My 5 month old pup was diagnosed with Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy (HOD) and due to his swollen joints, he cannot walk or stand so he's basically bed-ridden. He is usually extremely energetic and playful and I can tell that this is really depressing him, the fact that he can't move around. Is...
