My dogs are NOT getting along!

Hello :) I brought Dallas into our home about 5-6 weeks ago, where our 10yr old female cocker spaniel lives (Sassy). We did our best to introduce them properly, outside in neutral territory, and by letting them slowly get to know each other. I thought by now they could be friends but...

AHH keeps pooping in the crate!!

Hmm, thanks for the advice! I'll cut down the food and see how it goes. I'm glad she looks healthier now so at least something good came out of all the pooping! Haha. I imagine if I keep feeding this amount she'll eventually become overweight.

AHH keeps pooping in the crate!!

I feed Kirkland brand puppy chow with a table spoon of wet puppy food. Sometimes I drizzle olive oil on top. In the morning I feed 1 cup, in the afternoon she will finish what she hasn't eaten from the morning, around 5 another cup and around 7 another cup. She usually doesn't finish it all...

AHH keeps pooping in the crate!!

It stinks and she often sleeps right in it. I have made the space smaller but there is still room to make it even smaller. I feed her in the morning, around lunch, again at 5pm and around 7 or just before that. I slowly cut her water off around 8pm. We go to bed between 11-12. She gets taken out...

The pup I chose almost didn't make it, should I be concerned?

Have you looked at the nutritional contents of the food or are you saying its a poor choice just because its cheaper? It looks like it has a decent list of ingredients. Other than a moderate to low amount of animal protein (which can be supplemented by some canned food) its not a bad puppy chow...

The pup I chose almost didn't make it, should I be concerned?

Thank you everyone for your input. You provided some strong points and clearly you all stress the importance of finding a breeder who truly cares for the breed. I've chosen to go ahead with this pup and I'll explain why. I've voiced my concerns to her, explaining that I don't feel completely...

The pup I chose almost didn't make it, should I be concerned?

I'm sorry I don't understand what you mean about the breeders owning both parents. They own 4 adult boxers and the ones they let me meet were the mom and dad who the pup came from. Why shouldn't a breeder own both parents? I also considered that 30 mins is long which is why I'm asking for...

The pup I chose almost didn't make it, should I be concerned?

Thanks for replying. My girlfriend told me the same thing however I wanted to hear other people's opinions through the forum. This pup took 30 mins to join the world. But its a relief to hear she'll be okay. Thanks again

The pup I chose almost didn't make it, should I be concerned?

We saw a breeder this weekend and took a look at some of the puppies. We chose the one that seemed to be the most introverted and became comfortable in our arms. After seeing the parents and asking all my questions I decided to give a deposit. As we were signing the papers the breeder tells me...

Bringing home new pup but can't take time off..

Thanks for the responses everyone! Actually, my brother will be home most days. The sad truth is that he has an illness (schizophrenia), and usually forgets a lot of things. I can call and remind him every day to help out by letting the pup out for a pee, then returning her to the crate unless...

Bringing home new pup but can't take time off..

I have a few weeks until I can pick up my new friend from the breeder and I would love to be able to spend the first week with her at home, but I can't. Its very difficult to for me to take time off. I work from 8-6 most days so a large amount of time will be quiet at home. We have a another...

Hello everyone, I've decided to get my first boxer. I've always considered owning one, but after spending a day with a handsome energetic and hilarious boxer I fell in love. Ive read as much as possible to make sure I don't make any mistakes and that my lifestyle and personality will be...
