    Back Again

Hello everyone - we are finally back again. Living in the interior of Alaska means we get dial-up at speeds slower than anything we've had before. It can make getting on-line a frustrating experience! But, we are glad to be back discussing the wonders of our amazing babies!

    Cellulitis

update Hi all...I just wanted to update you on Tyson's cellulitis. We ended up going back to the vet on Monday because he had gotten worse. They put him on a new medication (Clavamox) and the results were amazing. Within 24 hours the swelling had reduced significantly and his primary sore...

    Hi from Alaska

Did you have any Boxers when you lived in Fairbanks? I am very interested to see how these two will handle the winter? We are about 100 miles south of Fairbanks and of course we do all our shopping there.

    Hi from Alaska

thanks for all the welcomes...it's going to be very interesting to see how they handle the winter...Grace HATES booties (when it gets cold enough she'll have to wear them) and doesn't care a whole lot for snow. I wish they had an indoor dog park so they could romp and play!

We were asked to leave a flea market-VENT

I learned an interesting fact from my Grandmother who is legally blind and extremely active in the blind community. Did you know that Boxers are the BEST suited breed for a seeing eye dog? The only reason that Retrivers and Shepards are used instead is because too many people were scared and...

    Cellulitis

I called the emergency vet back because the swelling has gotten worse, but at least now he is drinking water and taking treats (a far cry from earlier). They had me give him an extra dose of rimadyl and I'm going to cold pack in between the hot packs. We're going to continue to monitor him...

    Cellulitis

Does anyone have any experience w/ Cellulitis? My Tyson was bit by a Golden Retriver on the cheek and became extremely swollen. We ended up at the emergency vet and found out that the swelling was due to Cellulitis. We were given antibiotics and rimadyl and I was told to hot pack and see a...

    Hi from Alaska

Hi - We've been a member for awhile, but forgot to introduce ourselves. We recently moved to Interior Alaska and have 2 beautiful boxers. Grace is a flashy brindle and is 1.5 yrs old - she's our baby and certainly likes to act it! We've had her since she was 8 weeks and we've thoroughly...

    Switching Foods-Nutro Max

thank you Thank you for the advice on the introduction - the rules state that new members should introduce themselves, not that it's a requirement. I guess I was a bit confused with the verbiage, please excuse me for being impolite. As for the food...I'm still a little unsure with our...
