    Crufts 2006 - Boxers Today!!!

We went to see the boxers yesterday, it was the first time I'd ever been and they were stunning, there were so many, I think there was around 200 boxers there. I thought the owners were so friendly and willing to talk and let you make a fuss of their dogs which was the best bit of course :)...

    Dysplasia

Thanks for all the information, it's been interesting learning about dysplasia. Jazz is going through a bit of a run of bad luck at the moment, she's somehow managed to get gastroenteritis from somewhere, even though she's hardly been anywhere and if she has it's been on a lead for a very...

    Dysplasia

Thank you for asking after Jazz, she's doing ok, limping a bit less with the help of some painkillers. She's on room rest for 2 weeks, she thinks she's done something wrong because we can't let her play or anything so she's being spoilt instead with lots of cuddles and of course the sofa...

    Dysplasia

Hi, unfortunately we got some bad news a few days ago. We took Jazz to a specialist to find out exactly what the problem is with her front legs as she's been limping on and off both for a while now. After having a CT scan and arthroscopy (just to make sure nothing else was causing it) Jazz...

    To those with natural tails

It's so funny watching Jazz with her tail. It's true when she gets excited she does smack herself in the face, she sort of has this expression on her face as if she doesn't realise it's her tail getting in the way (still learning I guess) and she blinks lots because she ends up wacking herself...

To spay or not to spay thats the question??

Have you tried looking out for special offers at different veterinary practices. We got Jazz spayed in January. Our normal vet quoted a price of around £170-£180 and then a friend told us that another place not too far away were offering half price spay/neutering for a short amount of time (to...

    Eating spiders! yuck!

Jazz's favourite thing to do in the evening is lie in the garden, stick her nose to the ground and snort until she finds a bug or a spider she can eat. They're in big trouble in the house too, she stamps/pounces on them, then eats them :) Last night she was chasing moths around the garden...

Does your Boxer have a natural tail?

I agree. The number of people who come up to us and mention Jazz's tail and say how they've never seen a Boxer with a tail and how much they like the look. We rehomed her at 12 months so we didn't have a choice but we wouldn't have her any other way :)

    Limping, what could it be?

Update Jazz was seen by a specialist the other day. He said he could feel a crackling/grinding of the cartilage in her wrist :( so she's on a course of Metacam and 2 weeks of walking on a lead. Hoping this will work, if it doesn't then she's got to have an MRI scan of her leg. We're trying...

    Limping, what could it be?

We can't work this one out so I thought I'd ask and see if any of you have any ideas as to what it could be and how to make it better. About 2 weeks ago Jazz stumbled on uneven ground on her walk and from then on she started limping, it was her left front leg :(. She had an x-ray on Monday and...

    Goodbye Tessa

Thanks for all the kind comments. I saw my Nan on Sunday when she came round to our house and she's doing ok but she was having trouble fighting back the tears at times when she was watching Jazz run about young and happy and talking about Tessa. Jazz has helped me remember all the good...
