It wouldn't hurt to try Orijen for Tucker. I've fed it for several years and ours do very well on it. Orijen will be about 40% protein compared to Core's 34% and 16% fat to 14%. Another consideration is the calories per cup. Orijen comes in at 450 cals/cup compared to Core's 430 cals/cup...

Excellent choices. We've raised several of ours on Innova and raw (Nature's Variety patties). As adults, they eat a couple of varieties of EVO. Orijen is another food we've tried that really good... just pricey.

Good suggestion... I'd forgotten about the pumpkin. There's a lot of fiber in pumpkin. Just start kinda slow with it so you don't clog him up ;)

OK... how about cooking up some chicken and rice for him to see if you can tempt him into eating and maybe firm up his stools? About 1/2 and 1/2 between the chicken and rice. If he'll eat that for a couple of days it may help settle him down? It's easy to digest and often help with diarrhea.

Well, if it was me, I'd be back at the vet for a more thorough checkup. I'd ask for a complete physical including blood work, a check for worms, and anything else that might give a clue about why he isn't gaining any weight. Canidae is a pretty good food. 4.5 cups a day ought to be showing up...

Just to support gmacleod's answer... I feed Nature's Variety frozen raw in the morning with a small patty at lunch and then feed Innova kibble in the evening. Been doing this for all 3 dogs for a while now with no problems at all.

You might try a pre-made raw like Nature's Variety frozen raw. That's a 95% meat-based food with a good balance of vitamins and minerals. Ours poop better on that than anything they've ever eaten (don't know whether you consider pretty poop to be a "recommendation" or not...). Solid Gold also...
