Skin tag turns out to be hemangiosarcoma
Got the labs yesterday and I was devasted. He had been to two family vets and then the oncologist and all seemed to think it was a benign skin growth. I had it removed by the family vet and this was the result. He's going back to the oncologist for...
My boy, Sundance, has a bothersome skin tag by his upper mammory gland. He removed it himself about two weeks ago (and the night before I was to take him to the vet) and I took him to the vet anyway to give it a look over. Vet said just to keep clean. Unfortunately it grew back within 3 days...
Sundance (3-5 years) whines whenever my girl Lulu (about 6-7ish) is in her watch dog mode inside the home. She usually gives me a warning bark and bolts outside to the backyard or to the window in the spare bedroom to check things out. He especially whines in the middle of the night when she...
About 2.5 months ago I adopted a male dog from a rescue organization, Sundance. He's a big hunk of love and full of boxer wiggles. He and my female boxer Lulu were fast friends and play very well together.
I took him to my doggie daycare to get evaluated and he didn't pass. Apparently he...
mine had a mild case of this as well
I adopted a 2nd rescue Boxer just about 4 weeks ago to keep my Lulu (about 5) company. I've had Lulu for 2 years (also a rescue dog about 5 years old) and she was a dream dog that had very good in house manners from the get go. Sundance (who is between...
yes it's normal and why outside?
I agree with the the normal puppy behaviour.
I feel the same about what was said about boxers being sensitive to extreme weather. I'm curious too about why you keep your pets outside. I'm sure we all hope to hear your answer. To me your schedule should be...
Thanks to all - head halter works great!
Many, many thanks for your suggestion of the head halter. I used it on Sundance only and it's made the walks 100% more manageable. My Lulu walks fine with just a regular collar. The coupler was not a good idea for my dog(s).
Any one out there have suggestions? I recently (one week ago) adopted a second boxer (Sundance an adult male). Now the walks are very challenging. I have just purchased a coupler and will try that tonight. Sundance has a tendancy to pull. Lulu is good. There isn't enough time in the day...
No adoption afterall
Many thanks for all your replies and advice. Turns out Nelson had more issues than just high prey drive. He didn't get along with other dogs so well. Bad canine manners. Stared my Lulu down and it seemed like he didn't know how to socialize. Poor thing. We tried...
I am thinking of adopting a two year old male dog that has been surrendered to the local Humane Society. He's a squirrel and cat chaser. From what the owners have described to the behaviorist and counselor, they have diagnosed the dog with a high prey drive and escape behavior for squirrels...
Hello - I just joined and am happy to be amongst fellow boxer companions sharing stories and lending a helping "paw". I have a 5 year old (or thereabouts) female flashy fawn. She's a rescue. I've had the pleasure of her companionship for about 2 years now. She is the first dog I've had since...
