We started Frazier in puppy class at 10 weeks, and she has done so much better than Fenway did as we waited longer for him. I always encouraged my kiddos not to play rough with either of them in the beginning and I discourage really rough play between the two dogs as well
Mandy...LOVE your quote about lefty's. I haven't heard that one before but will be sure and use it when someone inevitabley says"Oh I didn't know you were left handed.Your dogs are gorgeous...the smaller of the 2 reminds me of our Fenway when he was a baby. Frazier our little girl is sealed...
Amen to the Doggie WWF.....I had Fenway's ears cropped. Had to remove him from all others for 2 weeks...was very painful...had problems so didn't do it this time. Best of luck to you.
Our puppy goes after our adult dog relentlessly also, but she seems to somehow know when he has had enough. Then she will lay by him and fall asleep...they are best buds now, I am sure yours will be too.
We have 3 skin kiddos and 2 boxers, and in my opinion they are the greatest breed for kids. Our dogs love being with the kids and seen to know when it is time for school to be out. When the kiddos get home those "nubs" get outta control!
Frazier is 5 mo now and she went to school...it was great she learned to heel, stay, wait, etc. I wish I had taken Fenway(who is now 6) when he was a baby. She also finished with top score in her class she had 101 pts out of a possible 110. We are very proud of her.
Having more than one boxer is deffinately a lot of fun. Mine wrestle constantly, and Fenway(6 yrs) is always gentle with Frazier(5 mo.). They are great company for each other and are so much fun to watch.
We have a 6 yr old male and a 5 mo old female. When we first got Frazier(the female) she wouldn't give Fenway a moments peace either. They are the BEST of buds and she now knows when he has had enough. Give it time Boxers are sooo smart. Good Luck
Carla...my puppy (Frazier) plays like a cat with my adult dog all the time. It is too funny. She will also try to eat EVERYTHING...rocks, dirt, the water meter...we call ger goat girl. Love these dogs.
I have found bitter apple spray or paste to work for chewing. vet said if you come home to find something destroyed...show it to them while spraying a SMALL ammt. of bitter apple in mouth and say NO CHEW....worked for Fenway my 6 yr old male. The puppy isn't chewing really on anything...thank...
