In Response yeah, dakota is still very active. she doesn't cough or anything. she looks and seems fine to me. it may be in the early stages of development (larvae). my vet recommended to still give her the heartgard. she says that it will not harm her. maybe someone can help on this....can...

Thanks guys Thank you guys so much for the info. I think i'll have her tested again after i give her the next pill on the 13th of this month. I really don't want her to suffer throught the treatments.

Just wanted to throw the question out there....have any of you guys had a boxer that tested positive for heartworms after never missing a dose of preventive. My female, Dakota, has just tested positive for heartworms and has been on preventive ever since she was a pup (without missing a dose)...

Hello guys, Ours names are Brett and Carlie. We are the very proud owners of two brindle boxers. One 3.5 yr female, Dakota, and a 14 wk old male, Blaze. I have had boxer since 1996 and absolutely love them. Just wanted to say hey, and we look forward to meeting other boxer lovers.
