He is adorable! I think his ear looks fine. :)
Was his hematoma very large to begin with? Thank you so much for sending the photos--I am feeling a lot better about not doing the surgery.
Thank you so much--I'd love to see the picture. I'm glad things worked out for you.
I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to do the surgery--just don't want to put him through that for cosmetic reasons. He seems fine and it's on the outer part of his ear so wouldn't block his ear canal or...
Hi. My 8 year old boxer has a hematoma on his right ear. It is medium sized and the vet wants to do the surgery, which makes me nervous due to Baxie's age. Has anyone had any luck with just having it drained and filled with antibiotics? Any advice would be great.
I don't mind if his ear...
Thank you for all the good thoughts!! Baxie seems to be doing a lot better. He goes in to the vet next week for a check up so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!
Hi
Welcome! So sorry to hear about Rush. I lost my first boxer 5 years ago to cancer and I still miss him. I have a 5 year old male, Baxter and he is wonderful as well. I'm glad you have a new friend--it definitely helps.
Thanks
Thanks--I think the pad is a great idea! Baxie is doing okay-I let him out to cuddle a lot so I think that helps. He also has gotten a load of new bones, toys, etc. The prednisone makes him drink gallons so he has to be taken outside a lot!! Needless to say no one is sleeping very...
Thanks for the warm welcome. Baxie is down with a back injury at the moment but normally he's full of energy (aren't they all??). I am trying to upload some photos but so far I've been unable to get them small enough--I'll keep trying though. :)
crating due to back injury
Your posts were encouraging. My 5 year old is being crated as of yesterday due to a back injury and he is heartbroken since he's never been crated before. I give him bones, etc but so far he just whines. I let him out to snuggle with me and potty, etc. This is...
Hello. Two days ago when Baxie (5yr old male) woke up he had no use of his hind legs. Needless to say he spent all day at the vets having tests. At first they suspected a mass just above the tail on the spine. Then they said it's probably not a tumor (we are sending x-rays to UC Davis to be...
Hello. Just want to say that this is a great site! I have a 5 year old, male, fawn named Baxter. He is a huge part of our family and one of the sweetest dogs ever (my last boxer is up there too :) ). I can't imagine not sharing my life with boxers--they are the best!!
