We originally "puppy proofed" the kitchen and kept him in there with a big suitcase. It wasn't more than a week or 2 until he was big enough to just knock the baracade over and join us in the living room!
Too cute!! He of course wanted to be with his family... the suitcase was a good idea as a 'gate'. Maybe you should have tried putting bricks in it they get so big SO fast!! Best wishes with your new pup!
