We finally got another boxer puppy who is 8 weeks old for our 11 month old boxer to have a friend. We got him two days ago and the breeder had him on royal canin medium puppy food. I do not know how much to feed him due to the weight chart starts at 22 pounds on the bag. I not too sure if I even like the food he is eating at the moment. Our other boxer was raised in acana and still is at the moment. He is eating pacifica. I was wondering if I should just buy some puppy acana for our new little guy or should I keep him on the royal canin medium puppy dog food. Really not sure how much to be feeding him that food. The food is orange and his stool is orange. which aint a huge deal just idk about that dog food. Would like some input on what to do thanks!!!!

The Royal Canin weight is that of the expected weight at adult hood. Your boxer should be around 65 t0 75 lbs on average. I would expect about 600 to 800 calories as a guess for an 8 week old puppy, so you're looking at about 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups per day of the Royal Canin. (Again, this is a rough guess so you may need to increase it based on your pups needs).

Having said that, I would get him off that food as soon as I could as I find it to be pretty much a crap food....

Arcana would be a great food to try and I love that food. Orijens (same company as Arcana) is another good one along with Merrick. My first choice was Orijens, but over time it just proved to be too rich for my little girl. We have had great results on the Merrick grain free, although our Cat still eats the Orijens as he's developed a taste for it from the scraps left over when our little girl was finished.. go figure.

Oh ok thanks for the input he is fully switched to the puppy acana and he totally does not even poo as much lol. I did not like that dog food he was eating did not feel healthy to me. He loves his new food. His dad was 92 pounds without any fat on his body and the mom was 65 so he might be a bigger guy when full grown not too sure yet . either way we will love him . the acana is a way healthier food for dogs for sure if people are able to buy it and if their dogs agree with it.
