Hello all! Just a quick question.... We recently bought our second boxer - a fawn male who is 11 weeks old now. He is strictly a companion animal and will not be shown. Most of his coat is a mid-range fawn color, but on one side he has a patch (approximately about 1/5 of the coat on that side) of a lighter fawn color. We fell in love with his great personality, and did not let this patch stop us from making him part of our family. My vet, who shows boxers, did say that the patch may dissolve when he looses his puppy coat. Anyone ever heard of this type of patch before? I have not seen any mention of it, and was wondering about the possibility of it dissolving. We love him just the same and probably would have taken him home if the patch was purple... Well, may not purple... :)

My girl had/has a lighter spot right on top of the shoulders. It is less prominent than it used to be.

Hannah has what I call 'blonde bits' on her shoulders, actually so does Jed but its harder to see because he's brindle.

From what I have seen it's pretty common for them to have these lighter/blonde patches on their shoulders and sometimes other places.

Xena's whole head used to be a shade lighter than her body :D There was a distinct line around her shoulders where the fur changed colors (you can tell in a few of her pics in the gallery). My dad said it looked like she had a head transplant. She's almost 9 months old now and she matches again :)

when we got Layla at 8 wks old she was a light fawn color now that she is 6 months she has a deeped fawn color with light blonde highlights. also on the top of her back is the darkest part of her... So I think that it will change as they grow.
