Furniture or No furniture?

We do not allow Rocky on the furniter. We have taught him to stay on the floor from day one. You know what that means...we're always on the floor!:p

We do not allow Joe up on any of the sofas or chairs. They are all leather and we don't want him to scratch them. We also want to be able to sit and not be covered in Boxer hair. He is allowed up on the bed to play only when invited! I too, spend most of my evenings sitting on the floor!

Ours aren't allowed on the furniture either, although sometimes our older one will lean up against the couch and kinda gets his fanny up on it alittle. But other than that, they don't even try. They get enough slobber on the furniture just by rubbing up against the fabric. Yuck!:p :p Got to love 'em!!

Ours is allowed on the beds but not most of the furniture. I have an old futon in "his room" (where he stays during the day) and he's allowed on that one. The furniture in the family room is off limits - mostly for a space issue. There's just not room for all of us on the couch.

Of course they do, until the last day or so Gypsy needed a helping hand to get up there, but she has now begun to concur the challenge of getting up on the couch by herself.

Mine is not allowed on the couch (not my choice!) but he does sleep in the bed....but the funniest thing about him and the couch is that he tries SO hard to get up there! he usually starts with his front paws and will rest his head on my legs....then he will get a third paw up there, leaving the last one on the floor...until very slowly, he creeps that last paw up until he is cuddled on my lap and i'm already won over...he's so sneaky!! gotta love him for that....

To be really honest, they are Kyrie's couch, chair, and loveseat, and bed. She allows us to share ! No, we started out with the No Dogs on Furniture rule, but that went right out the window! But then again, our furniture is not new, but its not old. I may change my mind "when" we get new furniture. Who knows! But it is a pain b/c alot of our family wont let their dogs on, so she hops up and the other doggies look at her like...."Aawwww...You are in Trouble!!!" But she is learning not to jump up at their houses!

We allow our dogs on the furniture. They sleep with us as well. I made a cover for one couch. The other is black leather.

We allow Memphis up on the furniture, but I've learned how to cope with most of the hair....I went to Wal-Mart and bought a 3 yard piece of fabric to cover the loveseat with. That way when it starts to smell funky or get hairy..I just put it thought the washer. At first Memphis tought it was a top and kept trying to pull it off:rolleyes: ..she got used to it though and had decieded it can stay.

Mine have a couch in their bedroom :rolleyes: and they can lay on that--BUT no no on our furniture and they are ok with that arrangement. So funny when they try to sneak a little, though...
can't help but smile and turn away THEN turn around and act shocked and say "what are you doing? get down..."
