Too much going on out there with terrorists
I think you are very misinformed to say the least... Actually it is the opposite: less people go to the USA because of what's going out there, *even* if it can be interesting as the US$ is currently so weak. Can you imagine that someone getting a salary of GBP 2,500 in the UK per example has the equivalent of USD 4,695? In short, everything is half price in the US.
Need fact? A quick look to the international tourism arrivals in million from the World Tourism Organisation shows it: In 2002 France was the first destination in the world with 77 millions (+2.4% compared to 2001), Spain the second destination with 51,7 millions (+3.3%) and the USA is the third destination with 41,9 millions (-6.7%).

Now that American people can't travel in Europe or do not want to travel for other reason, I can understand but giving terrorism as a reason is total ignorance.

<<I don't really want to go out of the country anyway. Too much going on out there with terrorists, etc.>>

Huh? Expensive to travel outside of the US? Absolutely. But "terrorists"?? That is obsurd.

I just hope that our fellow European Boxerworld members do not think this is the viewpoint of everyone in America.

My husband and I love to travel outside of the United States. In fact, you could say that over the past 4 years, I have dreamed of moving outside of the US ;) (with November being something of a turning point for me).

Anyway...I digress

Boxer Insane
I agree with Courtney - Mark and I have already said once I graduate college that we are either moving to the east coast (which is practically a different world than Texas) or somewhere on the other side of the world - London, maybe? I have travelled a lot since I was a small child and to be honest, I have felt safer in other countries than the US - except when in Caracas/Merida, Venezuela!

It is totally expensive and of course I couldn't afford to fly there anytime soon (I CAN, although, afford to look at Olly's beautiful pictures - I'm still gawking over 'Nice'). I'm not really sure why some American's have a distorted view of all the violence over there, it's not much different than here, really...if anything, it's better in some places over there. Now, if we're talking about Iraq, I could understand, but we're talking about the beautiful French Riveria ;)

Completely Boxer Crazy
If I had the time and money I would travel all the time. I can't wait to see Europe and maybe someday Australia. I will not live in fear of terrorists, anything can happen anytime anywhere. Why waste your life and not do what you want worrying about it. Much bigger chance of getting killed in a car wreck on the way home from work. Just my 2 cents

My daughter is going to Greece for her Easter break. (*envy, envy, envy*) She has a traveling jones, for sure. She already spent half a year in Australia, been to Mexico and Canada. Her main concern is that the dollar isn't worth that much compared to the Euro, so will cost her more, but she is a college student and has an adventuresome heart. I wish I had the time to go some of those places. As far as terrorists, maybe a concern if you are going to the Baghdad Hilton, but geez, you can't live your life in complete fear. BTW, I am going to the Boxer Nationals this year with Holly and Christina. Holly is nominated for the 2005 Futurity.
:)

Someday I want to visit that place that sits high above the French Riviera, Eze, it has me completely captivated!
