I agree, please do not beat yourself up and try to find fault. You loved your baby and did what you thought was right, and that WAS the right thing.
When Samson suddenly passed away, I should have sent him to the university for testing, but I wanted him to be buried with no shame, being the...
I am seeing blurry eyed as I write this. Do the tears really ever stop? No. But they do come a lot less frequently, and only at special times, like now, when I decided to come in and comfort people that have lost their special babies. Therapy for me too, I guess.
It has been nearly 1 1/2...
This is not perfect advice, but I would try to spoil Belle as much as possible, with a lot of attention.
When Samson passed way, Tyra did not act right for a while. She didn't act sick or anything, she just would sit occasionally like she was contemplating on something (wondering where...
I understand your pain, and I can squarely tell you that the pain does subside. It takes a lot of time, for me, nearly 2 years. You will never forget, but you will find a great peace with it someday. Someday you will remember all of the good things, and it will not hurt to remember them.
I...
Perhaps your new boxer is too exited to remember his potty training.
Tyra was our rescue and she was a mess for quite some time. She was mis-treated, the former owners left her alone for very long periods of time (outside for weeks). She was petrified of being alone. We would have to go...
Oh gosh, rainy days are a sore spot in my household! Delilah does not like to go to the bathroom in the rain. She tends to just stand there and hold one paw up at a time. She does go when she needs to, it just takes a lot of time and patience, and she seldom goes in the house. On the other...
As I read your post I was thinking that the lady might have had a horrifying experience with a dog at some point in her life. Then, there is all the publicity about pit bulls, and no comment here, but most people do not know the breeds of different dogs, therefore, do not know the difference...
Hello, I believe I remember you!? :)
I have been thinking about logging onto BW for about a week. I knew that Samson's passing (1st anniversary) was getting close. It still about took my breath away as I came to the home page. I just do not know why, it was like I came to BW for him...
Nope, no worry at all from what you described.
I have 4 boxers, and I have owned 5. The spitting up is just so common.
I see that your baby is 3 months old. I am sure you are noticing a lot of "different" things. I miss puppy breath and the puppy dreams (jerking in their sleep) but I am...
Welcome to Boxerworld!
You know, when you bring home that first boxer, you are joining the crazy world of us boxer lovers. They are a lot of fun, take a lot of patience, and bring a lot of smiles to our faces! Good luck in your search! :)
My opinion is to go for it. Sometimes things fall into our laps just at the right moments, and this sounds like one of those times. You wanted another boxer, a "rescue," and this one isn't working out where it is at. Sounds good to me!
Tyra took a lot of work and she is a good dog now...
I knew the time was close, that it had been a year since Samson's passing. It still hurts, like when I am long on here (BW), but it is getting much better.
In honor of Samson, I decided to post to Boxerworld, and what better than to post an updated picture of Spike, Samson's beautiful 2...
Every boxer that I have owned has spit up more than other breeds.
Delilah, for example, can get the least bit excited and up it comes. Most of the time it is just a little (as you described), but some days (infrequently) she can lose all of her water, or food with water.
