    UTI's, scratching & excessive licking

Bella is a 3 yr old spayed female. Last Sep she had an UTI so off to the vet we went and got antibiotics. Her infection cleared up and I thought everything was fine. I then started to notice that the bedding in her kennel would be damp...and if she would lie down for extended periods on the...

    Need a home for Bella

Hello all... I have a 2 year old female boxer that needs a good home. She is white with brindle spots, spayed, very sweet and great with kids. We love her dearly but she does not get along with our 6 year old male. She gets along with certain dogs but I would prefer that she be an only dog. I...

    Heartbroken, one has to go..

I am having a hard time finding someone qualified to help me with my dogs. Since it is becoming increasingly difficult to separate them (due to cold weather) I was wondering about putting muzzles on them to see how they react to each other. Is this a good idea or not?? They would be...

    Heartbroken, one has to go..

I honestly do not know what starts the fights, and believe me I feel so frustrated that I can't figure it out. I feed them in separate rooms, there is some food aggression so I no longer give out treats. I am going today to buy another crate for Sam (the male). He has been acting very...

    Heartbroken, one has to go..

I have 2 boxers, a 5 year old neutered male and a 2 year old spayed female. For the last year, there have been fights between them but now it has escalated so that I have to keep them separated. I'm not totally sure who is starting the fights. The male has always been a nervous sort, the...

    Sneaking the couch

We bought some plastic carpet protector at Home Depot. Just cut some off the roll, turn it upside down so that the points are sticking up and put it on the couch. The points aren't super sharp, but it's not something dogs like to lie on. Cheap and easy!

    11 mo. old girl...help!

Thanks for the tips. I'm sure it's going to take quite some time to accomplish this since she seems violently opposed to being crated, but will be well worth the effort if it works:) BTW, should I keep both crates in the same room or does it matter?? Since bringing Maddie home, Sam and she have...

I've been using the frontline plus, but might have to check into the Advantage multi that MypupShooter mentioned...I'm always looking for a better deal:)

How to obtain a urine sample??

We just adopted an 11 mo. old Boxer/Border Collie mix, Maddie, from the Humane Society. She had an accident in the house (pee) and it had a really bad, almost fishy smell to it and it stunk up the whole house. The vet said to try to get a urine sample to take to them....but how in the world am I...

    11 mo. old girl...help!

Last Sunday we went to the Humane Society and adopted Maddie, an 11 month old Boxer/Border Collie mix. She had been an outside dog with her previous owners. I would like to get her crate trained but she will go completely nuts when (and if) I get her in there and I'm afraid she might hurt...

    Brewers Yeast

Yes, the bottle will tell you how much to give:) I bought a bottle of Brewer's Yeast (with garlic) at PetSmart last week. I bought the larger tablets, you give one tablet daily for every 50 lbs. of the dog's weight. They also sell smaller tablets but I don't know the dosage for those. I think...

Need advice for our old boy

We have two dogs in our family- Joe, an Australian Shepard mix age 10, and Sam the boxer age 2. The problem is that Joe has started chewing on things and destroying them. He usually prefers to chew up plastic toys that belong to the kids (I have found at least 4 GI Joes missing their heads)...
