    slobber in the crate

We have had our 7 month old boxer for about a month now, he would go into his crate fine at first and now only occasionally he will go in. Within the past 2 weeks I have noticed that when I let him out he has drooled while he was in his crate. His face is wet and there is drool dripping off...

    adjusting to crate training

We have had Levi for about 2 weeks now, at first when we would put him in his crate when we would leave, he would go in there when you gave him a treat and we'd leave a toy for him. Now when we get a treat for him and walk towards his crate he sits down right in the living room and won't even...

    summer swimming

Anyone ever get their boxer on a boat??? My husband and I took our boxer out on our kayak, but it's not quite the same as a real BOAT. He took to it fairly well until he fell in, we had a life vest for him, because we weren't, and still aren't too sure of his swimming skills.

    Kayaking with boxers

We're going on an overnight camping/kayaking trip the end of this week, I'll be sure to get some pictures of Levi in his life vest on the kayak. It's precious really, if he'd just learn that on the boat is better than in the water :)

    Kayaking with boxers

We just got a tandem kayak and tried taking Levi (our 6 month old) out on it yesterday. He did really well, just sitting next to dad and relaxing and enjoying the ride, but when he finally got comfortable enough to start sniffing around, he lost his footing and slipped right in. Good thing he...

    Boxer Traits

my 6 month old is learning to be a lap dog, if you are on the floor, he'll sit right next to you and slowly lean his way onto you. :) I've also noticed that in crate training him we leave his toy alligator in with him...when we come home and I go to let him out, he comes out all wiggles, will...

    bell training

Thanks for the ideas! I think we're going to try for the doorbell idea. A friend of mine has one outside her classroom that is a battery powered one that just sticks onto a surface. Hopefully he'll catch onto this as quick as he's caught onto the bells to go outside...it's working great! Now...

    bell training

My 6 month old boxer boy is pretty good about going to the door and waiting when he needs to go out, I've gotten bells and attatched them to the door handle for him to nose or paw at when he wants to go out, I just put them up today and he's starting to use them, probably more out of curiosity...

    Hi from Florida!

Just getting started here. We've just adopted a 6 month old brindle boxer boy, Levi. We've had him for 4 days now, and he's doing wonderfully. We're going to try using bell training for when he needs to go out and come back in. Any suggestions?
