In need of opinions about tonights trip to the ER

Charlie does have a murmur (aortic stenosis) but has not had an EKG since the end of 2005..... might be time for another one.

    Boxers in the HEAT

I just had to take charlie to the vet after coming home to a very lethargic dog. The vet said she was probably overheated. What led her to that conclusion was the fact that after 3 hours of breathing very hard and lying on the floor not wanting to move, a 30 min ride in an air conditioned car...

In need of opinions about tonights trip to the ER

by the time we got to the vet her gums were normal (the vet mentioned that)... She was panting a little at home, but her breathing was just really fast and harder than normal. The vet said to just watch and if it happens again to bring her in..... I did have the AC on in the car and the vets...

In need of opinions about tonights trip to the ER

When I got home from work this evening, instead of Charlie running up to greet me, she slowly walked up and rested her head against my leg. I took her outside, and she just stood there, instead of her normal running around like crazy. An hour later she was lying on the kitchen floor breathing...

Does your boxer stand over your feet/legs?

Charlie does it because she want my foot to scratch her belly!

    Protective & Showing Agression

My 18 month old girl has just started doing the same thing. It started when we moved to a new city, where we now live in an apt. right downtown. Needless to say, we get a diverse group of people walking by our building, and Charlie seems to randomly pick out people she doesn't like and becomes...

She Won't Leave The Kitties Alone

I have two cats, both age 4. I was having the same problem, and kept them constantly seperated. However, I soon realized that I couldn't keep them seperate forever, and I started having supervised "together time". I would hold Charlie, and pet the cats at the same time. I would speak in a calm...

"Chase me" game is getting old

I think the log lead idea is probably a good one. I try to recall her once in awhile for no reason, but probably not often enough. I try to keep in mind that there are people that have dogs they can't even take off the leash ever because they would never come back. At least she isn't that bad...

"Chase me" game is getting old

So my Charlie has discovered a new game that apparently is the best thing ever. Whenever we are outside in the yard without a leash, it's near impossible to get her to come. She thinks we're playing some sort of "chase me" game, where when I call her she comes close, and when I go to grab her to...

    Heart Murmur, getting worse :-(

You know, I looked and I can't find one actual veternary cardiologist in all of Western New York. Is that possible?

    Heart Murmur, getting worse :-(

My fiance took Charlie to the vet today, and her heart murmur has gotten worse over the past month. The Dr. initially heard it 6 weeks ago, but said it was not bad and we'd see what happened. Today she said it has gotten worse (a 2 on a scale of 1-6). She seems healthy, and doesn't get tired too...

Effective way to calm a puppy down????

Charlie (12 weeks) is crazy, which I know is normal. But every once in awhile she goes into "frenzy mode" where it's just bite bite bite run run run bite bite bark bark bark run run......etc. for like 5 or 10 minutes. If we are sitting down trying to watch a show or get something done we end up...

    Grooming problem

Exactly, a long hair who can't exactly reach his back side well enough to give it a good cleaning everyday. Plus there's some dandruff. He seems to tolerate brushing for a little while, which obviously helps, but he won't let me get those hard to reach areas, like under his back legs.
