    Chewed battery

The vet wanted us to call poison control before seeing us.... In any event, I was told to give them water and watch for ulcers. Thankfully, they're both ok. Whew.... my boys never seem to run out of things to get into.

    Chewed battery

Help -- one of my two boxers chewed on a battery and some oily substance came out. Does anyone know what I should do? I called the emergeny vet and they weren't any help. Thank you for any advice.

    Mast Cell Tumors in 9-month-old

Thank you for the information. I'll let everyone know how it goes. The vet said we should have the biopsy results within a few days of the surgery.

    Mast Cell Tumors in 9-month-old

My baby boy developed a lump on his right rear side shortly after Christmas. Unfortunately, since I thought it was a cyst or a wort I didn't take him to the vet right away. This past Monday I noticed that he had developed another one on his right shoulder. Meanwhile, his first lump continued...

Cardiologist needed in the Pittsburgh area

Thanks. The doctor's report was a great relief. He had his neuter surgery on Friday and went through it very well. He's acting as if it never happened.

Cardiologist needed in the Pittsburgh area

Great news -- my baby is fine. Although it was confirmed that he has a heart murmur, the doctor assured us that he can have a normal, happy life. I appreciate everyone's help.

Cancer in 6-1/2 year old Boxer

I'm so sorry that your family is going through this. Several years ago my baby Abby was diagnosed with lymphoma. She was only 6 1/2 as well. We were told to give her flax seed oil (fresh pressed) as well as Vitamin E with selenium. When she didn't feel like eating, we gave her Vitamin B12...

Cardiologist needed in the Pittsburgh area

I am so sorry about Chance. I know how your heart had to hurt. We were able to get an appointment for tomorrow to see a cardiologist at OSU. I was very surprised that they were able to fit us in. I appreciate everyone's advice regarding OSU. At least now there won't be any second...

Cardiologist needed in the Pittsburgh area

Thank you so much for your recommendation. Ohio state isn't that far to go for the best care. In the meantime, do you think the internist in the area did a good job or should I go directly to Ohio State? Thanks again. I'll keep you posted on what we find out.

Cardiologist needed in the Pittsburgh area

Two weeks ago we adopted a beautiful 5 month old baby boy. His neutering was scheduled for this past Friday. When we dropped him off I asked the vet to check his lungs because he had a cough -- especially noticable when he was running with his 15 month old brother. Unfortunately, his vet...

    Thinking about getting another boxer

We had a wonderful time with our two females -- they loved each other and never had a fight. I understand that we were very fortunate in this regard. We now have one male (6-months-old) and are thinking of getting his brother (littermate). We're hoping that two males get along as well as...

    Introduction

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I know how much your heart hurts and how empty your home must feel. Your new baby will help so much. What are you planning on getting, a male or female?

    Introduction

Sorry -- I wasn't clear. We lost both of our females. One died of lymphoma and the other had heart problems. Currently, we only have one male. Of course, we're thankful for our Slater -- he fills our home and hearts with love. Hopefully, we'll be able to get him a brother or sister soon.
