The vet checked Harvey over today and said he was fine, toe nails were fine, the black was just pigmentation. The vet thinks he just trod on something awkwardly which made his toe and paw sore, so hopefully he will be fine now.

Harvey is fine now, whatever was causing him discomfort appears to have gone. We took him to the vets today so they could check him over, the vet checked his legs, paws and toes and found nothing wrong. Interestingly the vet said the black toe nail was just pigmentation and nothing to worry...

I didn't realise there was a difference between the US and UK versions of Benadryl. I will make sure we look into that before we give it to him again. Glad to hear Ralph is on the mend.

Well we have given Benadryl to Harvey a couple of times and he has been fine. If you are not sure or not comfortable then just wait until the morning when you get to see the vet, as you say he doesn't seem in discomfort so I am sure he will sleep through the night ok. Maybe Google Benadryl...

Thankfully Harvey seems a but better today, he us walking about now and again which he wasn't doing yesterday. You can see he is still a bit wary of his toe, but at least he doesn't seem as distressed as he did yesterday when trying to walk on it. We will still take him to the vets tomorrow...

We have been bathing his paw and tie nail with warm salt water, thankfully today he seems a big better and is now walking around although you can tell he is still tentative with it. Will still take him to the vets tomorrow.
