Yes it's sad, but it's also kinda sweet. This pack of dogs could have easily had him for dinner. (A couple of months ago, an Australian boy was killed by a pack of dingos) But they took him in and looked after him instead.

I do hope the boy can be rehabilitated though, so he can live a normal life.
