Worried...Dripping urine mixed with blood

Yesterday my 9 year old male boxer Samson started dripping urine mixed with blood around the house. He is acting completely normal in every way, no weight gain or loss or lack of desire for food or anything else out of the norm, but I'm pretty worried... he will be seeing the doctor early Friday morning. I hope it's nothing big. Just so worried. What could it be?!

Probably a UTI? I know for my female it was simliar to that. That's about all I can think of it being because I don't know much about boy doggy problems, never had any with mine yet. Hope he is feeling better soon and it's nothing seroius! My girl had one and acted fine except for the dribbling, inability to hold it and blood mixed with the urine.

I say urinary infection - check it out and let us know. Fingers crossed it's nothing a few pills can't fix!

I was watching my neighbor's 5 year old female when the same thing happened. Indeed, it was a urinary tract infection.

same thing happened to Magoo last spring, it was a bladder infection, pretty similar to UTI. He was givin 10 days of antibiotics, fixed him right up.

Of to the vet you go! If it is bright blood, then it is fresh which is good. If it is dark blood then I would extra worried. Either way, you vet can quickly tell you what is up. Hugs!

Please take your dog to the vet. It is probably just a UTI, but it could be much more serious.

Yes, I made an appointment before I even posted my first, he is going to see the doctor at 9 am tomorrow morning. It's lighter colored blood, it is mixed with urine. Thanks for your replies, I too hope it is nothing more than a UTI, I will keep you all updated, I will tell you what the doctor says after I get back.

The vet said he has an infection, and gave him a 2 week supply of antibiotics. Thankfully that is all it seems to be and he should be just fine. What a relief.

That's great news, Magoo's infection cleared right up and hasn't been back. Maybe try a little cranberry in his diet as well. Hope he feels better soon!
