Boxers can keep growing till they are around 2 or three years old. How much does she weigh now! Your Vet can probably give you an approximate weight!

Tyson gained his last 10 lbs between 18-24 months. He now weighs 73 lbs. My 14 month old female weighs 48 lbs. The vet said she is probably about done growing. She said Pru probably wont get any taller but might fill out a little more. My 9 month old female is still growing like a weed. I think it all depends on the dog. Pru has always grown very very slowly. Sheeba (9 month old) has always grown very fast. Sheeba now weighs 53 lbs. I think she will grow longer than Pru will. It seemed like with Tyson he grew quickly than at around 18 months he almost stopped (I thought he was done) but very slowly he put on another 10 lbs and his neck got much thicker. It's fun just waiting to see how they will turn out. I took Tyson to the vet once just to have him weighed. I thought he looked bigger and wanted to see if he had gained any weight. He hadn't, he still weighed 73 lbs. So I drove an hour to the vet and sit in the waiting room with about 20 other dogs for a couple of hours (this vet doesn't work by appointment unless it's a surgery) just to find out Tyson's weight hadn't changed. We like going to the vet so we can see all the other dogs anyway.

Alisha, I can't believe that you have to wait 2 hours just to get your dog weighed! I can walk into my vet anytime and the receptonist will weigh Markus. I hope your vet is worth it. LOL

Lately I have been using 2 vets. The long wait vet is very cheap. He doesn't charge any office fee. Most vets around here charge $15-$20 just to walk in the door. He gives shots and worming for $15, ear crop (this includes meds, and stitch removal) is $45, tail dock and dew claw removal is $1 a pup, spay $35, neuter $30. All meds my dogs have ever needed are $5 or less. I used to always use him when my dogs would get sick also. He treated Tyson's kennel cough, for an injection and a week of antibiotics was $10. I recently started using another vet for more complicated things (Sheeba's hair loss, Pru's confused heat cycles). The long wait vet seems to rush through and doesn't explain stuff very well. The new vet takes their time and asks if I have any questions. She is more expensive but it's worth it. I told her about our other vet and she said he is a good vet but is more for vacinations and knows more about farm animals. I like both vets very much and I feel better because when something is wrong with one of my dogs I have someone I can trust to get a second opinion. I will continue to use the cheap vet for shots and to purchase their heartguard. I plan to use the other vet for check ups and sickness.

As for the long wait, I always enjoy it. It's very entertaining to watch other dogs and their owners and I could never get tired of all the compliments I recieve, about how well behaved my dogs are and how pretty they are, while waiting.
