Help! I got home today after about 2 hours and my 11 week old puppy was fine! We played, he used the washroom as normal, we went for a 5 minute walk down the street, and BOOM! he starts acting like he is choking and nothing comes up. Now for the past couple of hours he starts doing the choking thing about every 10 minutes, is drooling uncontrollably, is shaking and has some dirrahea! I don't know what is wrong with him, does this sound familar to anyone??? PLEASE HELP!!!

i'm sorry i don't have any advice to offer but you should probably take him to the vet as soon as possible if this lasts for awhile.

Good Luck!

From your description, it sounds a little like some sort of severe allergic reaction (or possibly poisoning, but that is unlikely as he doesn't appear to have been in a position to get into anything). Either way, uncontrollable drooling, shaking, vomiting and diahorrea is NOT normal. I think you should get your puppy to an emergency vet immediately.

Let us know how things turn out.

I am terrified, I don't know what to do, I have been reading this website for the last 20 minutes and in that time he is curled up on my lap sleeping. He is still drooling alot.... my fiance will be home in about 20 minutes and we are going to the vet then. His breathing sounds fine and gum color looks good.... He hasn't done his choking thing for the last 30 minutes. I was talking to my fiance and he is worried that Domi may have eaten a mushroom last night when we took him out because he got away for a minute or so in the dark.

Relief

I just talked to the vet and told her the situation. After a bunch of questions she said it sounds like he just may have been chewing on a stick outside (which he occassionally does) and a piece may have gotten stuck in his throat or just scratched it. She said it may also be a piece of grass stuck in his throat that may cause the occ. tickle causing him to look like he is trying to throw up. He hasn't done it for about a half an hour and is playing and eating is supper just fine. The vet also told me that the drooling is just a sign that he could have some throat irratation. I will keep you guys updated on how the night goes!

Great to hear he's doing Ok now :) I'm sure you're incredibly relieved to see him eating and playing normally too! Hopefully it really was just a bit of stick stuck in his throat that's now gone.

Keep an eye on the little guy, and do keep us updated :)
