What is LOL?

I'm new to this and not computer literate, sorry. People sometimes put LOL in their messages.....what does that mean?

LOL means Laughing out Loud and there are a few others

ROFL Rolling on the floor laughing

How do you like this heat??? It kills me, the only I can take Debo out is middle of the night! How about you?
