Well after a lot of discussion we finally decided to go ahead and leave our two Boxers with my in laws when we leave on vacation for a week. They seemed real excited to have them. We took them over there tonight and Samson was horrible, he wanted to play with their Maltese but was too much for him, they use to play together when Samson was a puppy. I kept thinking this is going to be a total disaster, but my mother in law reassured me that they would work the whole thing out. Samson never calmed down the whole time he was there, we finally had to crate him. Anyways I don't leave until Friday and I miss my doggies already, Athena broke our hearts because when we were ready to leave she kept trying to bolt out the door to go home with us, not to mention Samson started whining as we were walking out the door, damn I am getting all teary eyed again. This may sound silly but I figured all you Boxer lovers would understand. It is going to be a long worrysome week for me I just know it. Thanks for letting me get this out. I know they will be fine, I am just a worrier.

JoAnn,
I totally understand!!!!
We were going to Florida for a week, and we were going to leave Striker with a lady with know, who has no animals, but 2 small children. I couldn't do it. We ended up driving down with him, and were supposed to keep him in a kennel near where we were for a week, but I missed him, so we picked him up after 3 days, and we had to find a hotel that allowed dogs for a few days. I cried when we dropped him off at the kennel. I had to go out to the car when my boyfriend gave Striker to the kennel worker!!

JoAnn.. I know what you are feeling.. I just picked up my Cooper from my breeder the other day.. he was ther for 20 days!!!!!!!!! I hated everyday I was not there with him...we had to travel to another city for some special therapy for my husband's back and we could not take him with us... I couldn't wait to get home.. we called all the time asking how he was.. and the answer was always fine.. he enjoyed being with the other dogs... they are more resilient than we think.. and very forgiving when we pick them up and take them home.... this was the longest we had left him there and I thought he would hates us.. but he doesn't..... be brave.... they have each other too....Gillian
