Weaning off Prozac

Hi all. My girl, Nysa, has been on 30 mg of Prozac for about six months. The behavorists agree that she is not deriving any benefit from it so we are weaning her off over a month's time. Just wondering if any one has had any experience with this and what they noticed? I am hoping it will be uneventful but would welcome any thoughts or experiences. Thanks

Not I. Mind me asking why she was put on it to begin with?

Dog on dog aggression. She is extremly reactive to strange dogs and the thoughts was that some of this was based in fear (anxiety). But after six months we see no change so why continue... She has done well with working on the reactivty but the drug does not seem to calm her at all

I'm not sure what the effects would be, maybe a higher boxer level of activity? Did your behaviorist or vet say? I would definitely pay close attention and log any changes. Also, maybe go on manufacturer's web site and see if the effects of coming off are listed. Good luck and keep us posted, I too will hope that it's uneventful.

Thanks! That is what the behavorist says. You start to imagine things, i think, when you have a reactive dog, so I just need to trust the experts and my girl!
