We just arrived home after a few hours away and discovered our Christmas tree had fallen over! This was a first for me...lights and ornaments everywhere, water soaked into the carpet :(.

My husband walked in a few minutes behind us and said "How did that happen...did you leave Ali out of the crate?" Just what is he suggesting? ;) Little does he know that Ali wasn't even home - I took her to doggie day care (but that's OUR little secret :D!

Hi Candy
I must tell you that it is not officially Christmas in our house until the tree topples over. Once that has happened the season is official for us. I have a sneaky suspicion that Buddy has been responsible a couple of times, as he has come flying out of the room with a mouth full of pine needles. However last year I can vouch for Buddy's innocence. I was talking on the phone, Buddy was sound asleep beside me, and all at once the tree came over. Water and decorations everywhere. I can hardly wait to see how Kailee is with the tree!! Gotta love the secret you and Ali have. $10.00 a day is great. I wish we had one around here for my two to go to. Of course we too would have to keep it on the hush.

Our tree toppled over (once) and I have the secret for keeping it from toppling over. My husband and I use our dive weights on the stand. The weights we have are the lead shot in the mesh bags (in 3 or 5 lb) so they conform to the base of the stand/tree. You can get these wherever they sell Scuba accessories/gear.
