Indy's mom

Boxer Insane
A friend of mine came over to borrow something and she brought along her little boy Luke who is just over a year old. Luke's grandparents have a long haired dachshund whom he adores and he has transferred that affection to every dog. Absolutely no fear at all.

It was a hoot! They really were eye to eye but Luke kept crouching down as though Indy was an itsy-bitsy dog. So Indy would bend his neck down to reach Luke. Cracked us all up. Indy not normally a licker, kisser. But he sure made an exception with Luke! I think like most children, he must have tasted pretty good. Luke's mom just laughed and laughed as Indy would lick Luke and Luke would lick back. yucky, yucky, yucky Luke giggled and giggled, gosh there is nothing quite so wonderful as the sound of a happy child. They followed each other around the house for an hour or so. If Indy would wander off Luke would follow. If Luke would go somewhere, he had Indy as his faithful shadow. So much fun.

When Luke's mom had the audacity to take him home, Indy watched out the window. I'm sure he thought he would come back. He waited for the longest time. Finally gave a big boxer sigh, you're all familiar with the one and took a nice long nap. sleepicon I think they wore each other out.

Not bad for a boy who doesn't live with a dog, or a dog who doesn't live with a boy. In all it was a wonderful afternoon! :)

Sounds like they had great fun. I love to hear when kids aren't scared of dogs. I see so many that are taught all dogs are mean and they make the biggest ordeal when they see one. It's amazing what a lack of education can make you afraid of. I think boxers get along with kids so well because inside their kids themselves! :)

This sounds like what my son does. He loves dogs, so that's why we had to go out and buy our Noble. Every dog that my son saw he went up to and gave it a hug and a kiss. He tries this with cats to, but they just run away. I'm glad Luke and your Indy got along great together.

What an awesome story! DH and I are "thinking" about getting pregnant and while I know that Sarge would learn to be okay around a baby, that's still a tiny fear inside me. But your post put my mind at ease. YAAAY Indy for being such a good boy!

Maximus met my sisters little 10 month old 2 weeks ago . He was gentle with the baby but I kept a close eye on him so he wouldn't box the baby to bad .

OMG

Spitting image of my Ali! Except shes female of course :)

As for them and babies, I have not let Ali near any as yet because shes WAY too playful (Death by 1000 licks mode if you dare to laugh near her :D) As for tyson he likes to shake paws with them... so need to watch the paws lol Other than that hes a gentle soul with kids :)
