to all the UK residents. is Braveheart for real?

I love the movie Braveheart. M anut said that a lot of the story was real but of course Hollywood has to put a spin on it. I would love any info you can give me a bout the truth to this story.
Also I was told that I am a desendet of Rob Roy. I watched the movie years ago and I was wondering if that movie was true to live or did Hollywood put a spin on it too?

I wish I would have read this before last weekend! I went to a Halloween dance, and met this fellow who was dressed like Mel Gibson in Braveheart. We got to talking, and it turned out that the kilt and swords were real, and he was Scottish, and head over heels into Scottish history. I learned a lot of things I never knew!
(And, yes, he let me peek under the back of his kilt. He said he drew the line at being THAT authentic.... ;-) )
If I talk to him again, I'll ask him your question.

I really don't know, I just recently found out I am part Scottish (formerly thinking we were part Irish) I do know that I have "thing" for a men in plaid "kilts"! :D
