The passed 2 days Dorian has thrown up in the morning not long after I let him out of his crate. He hasnt eaten anything before hand, so Im trying to figure out why hes doing it... He use to do it maybe once or twice a month, but it seems a bit more frequent lately. Could it be because he doesnt have anything in his stomach yet? He usualy hasnt drinken anything either, though I know he may do so when hes excited and drinks a lot. It doesnt have any food in it, its just a bit of liquid. Im wondering if this is something I should be concerned about, or if its common? Could it be because he gets a bit excited when I let him out of his crate in the morning?

Poor baby...... you'd be best taking him to the vet as it could be anything!

But i have a stomach problem that causes me to be sick first thing in the morning or if i haven't had food in a while.... called reflux (can't spell) i take pills which have calmed it down.

Dorian is just hungry. Boxers don't deal well with empty tummies and tend to throw up bile. Give him something to eat. A big biscuit before bed usually does the trip. :)

I would say that Dorian's tummy is probably empty. Boxers don't do well with empty tummy's, most likely he's probably just throwing up bile. I would give him a good sized biscuit before bed time to ensure that he has something on his tummy. Good Luck.

Yep.....empty tummy. Tae gets a treat before bed and as soon as I get up b/c I got tired of her getting sick on the bedroom carpet LOL. She also gets a couple when I get home from for for the same reason.

Yep thats what I was told by everyone on BW too! Luke was doing the same thing just recently. So sometimes I give him a small amount of kibble just before bed time to tie him over.

Our Brandi throws up quite often in the morning and she is 6 years old. When she went in for a surgery last month I talked to the vet about it and brought some of her morning puke with me. Since she couldn't eat after a certain hour the night before I knew she was going to get sick. The vet checked her puke and said it was very acid and no bacteria or fungus could live in it so it was something they referred to as bilious stomach syndrome. She showed me an article on it and it said a lot of dogs produce too much acid if they don't have food in their tummy before bed. Even so sometime Brandi with still throw up in the morning with some food in it. I try and feed her a little dinner as late as I can and it seems to help the later I do feed her the less likely she will get sick. Sometimes I give her a pepcid just before bed If she doesn't want to eat. That works for her too.
Caesar on the other hand has acid reflux syndrome and get meds for it if it becomes too frequent, but his happens anytime his tummy is too empty not just in the morning.

Yep, definately a treat or two before bed. Ginger was doing this in the morning too. I started the treat before bed & she has been fine. I am sure that is what is going on with your Boxer. Nothing to worry about:)
