The Jack hammer

We al lknow how boxer's use their paws. Maggie has gotten pretty creative. Yesterday she was playing wiht an ice cube. All of the sudden, with her front legs totally stiff, she starts bouncing up and down, with her front paws, on the ice cube. She must have done it about 20 times in a row, and it was hilarious. I call this move, the jackhammer. Another way she provides me with entertainment.

Winnie does this also (usually when I want her to do something she doesn't want to do). I thought it was a Winnie thing, I'm glad to know it's a Boxer thing. Anytime people see her do things like this (Jackhammer, kidney bean, etc..) they ask me "what is she doing, I've never seen a dog do that before". It's nice to be able to tell them "Oh, that's a Boxer thing, she's not wierd most Boxers do that"

I love learning new things on this board.

I have also seen Maggie do this to rocks. I guess it is a somewhat common trait in boxers, adn it is very funny.

Mommygus - you are right, when we started laughing, she looked up to see what was so funny. I wush she didn't hear us, becaue it made her stop. We have had her a little over 2 months, and I already forget what it was like without her. Seems like she has always been there. She certainly belongs with us.
