Tess has done really well, she has 6 pups, 5 dogs and one bitch and she is straining again for another.
It has been the most awful experience of my life and I will never put her through it again. Pups are gorgeous though.

Thanks, sadly her last one ( I sincerely hope that it is her last one) came out without a sac and unattached from the placenta and was also born breech. He was a lovely big dog but we couldn't save him. Tess has now eaten for the first time in 3 days so hopefully she is finished now.

sorry for your loss. I guess breeding is not for "everyone"
I hope other's will realise this as well.

Good luck

Good luck with mom and her pups. The work has only just begun and you are in my thoughts. Breeding is not an easy thing and Boxers are not particularly easy as a breed to whelp. Make sure you monitor mom's temp for the next several days. Right now she is most prone to infections. And if all the placentas did not come out make sure you take her to the vet today for a clean out shot.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info Christina, she expelled all her placentae and at the moment seems to be doing just fine. The pups are feeding well and the only problem we have is that Tess will not go outside to relieve herself as she won't leave her babies. Her food and water bowl has been put right by her whelping box and she gobbles it all up then rushes back in to the pups. I can't fault her on being a good mum.

Water and Food

Just put the water and food in the whelping box with her. That is what I do. A good momma never wants to leave their babies :)

Well done mama!!! I know too well how hard it is to get them out of the box. it is important to get her to relieve herself though. I end up putting newspapers down near the box and when it is all quiet she will get out and go toilet. This is better than upsetting her for the first few days. After that I get tough and put the lead on and pull them out to go toilet while someone quickly cleans the box and blankets etc. All my bitches are like this , they just hate to leave the pups for even a minute, in the first week or two. It is absolutely normal. Good luck , your hard work is just about to begin, but it is a lot of fun too. Debbie Camino Boxers http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/boxers/index.html
