Well we went to the vet to get Pimp's ears taped. I guess I was expecting the taping procedure to be a bit more timely and confusing or difficult. Thevet only put a piece of tape around each ear. You can see this is my most recent pictures. Does this look like it will be an effective method? Please give me some input. If not I would like to know of better method. Also while his ears were healing they kept curling back as you can see in the earlier pictures. The vet said that it was not normal, but they laid that way because of his head gear. Please let me know if anyone thinks that this method is not going to be effective. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

Just my opinion, but no way will this taping method work???? Not sure what is going on, but these ears need to be taped properly. Did the vet say that this will do it or this temporary?? When are you supposed to go back? They need to be posted correctly. Is there a breeder nearby that can assist you? A boxer, dobe or dane breeder will have the knowledge. It is especially important to get the curl at the tips taped. The method the vet is using won't correct it.

He said that it would work but just by looking at it I don't htink it will!! I have been doing ALOT of research on posting and taping ears so I am going to look around to see if I can find someone closer to take alook at this and help. It just doesn't look like the tape job is finished!! I am going to look around tomorrow for someone in the area to help. If there is doberman or great dane breeder around, are the taping methods similar or the same?

I don't think it would be so bad as long as the tips were taped as well. But I am defintiely going to be looking into it.

I need help. The tape that I purchased doesn't stick to my pup's ears! I bought Johnson & Johnson sports tape. (not Zonas) It seemed to stick to my skin pretty well, but, it doesn't stick to my pup's ear. I cleaned his ears with alcohol and then waited for a couple minutes. No luck. I have to post his ears tonight, because they're been down for almost 2 days now. (not good) The base (bell) of his ears are standing, but from the middle on up, it curls in towards the middle of his head. Do I need to post his hears completely, still or is there a shortcut??? Also, what other kind of tape should I use? Zonas is very hard to find. Where can I find it?

Does anyone have any other suggestions? (help)

Some people actually use masking tape with success. JB Wholesale has the Curity tape (similar to Zonas) which is what we use.

I bought a case of Zonas off an internet Pharmacy site for about $20. It was a very simple and easy way to get good tape. Just google Zonas Tape and you get a million websites.

I have had success using the method explained at this website www.******************* . I also have used just tape around the caulk saver (Similar to the tampon method) when I will be taking the ears down in a few days. (I bought the Skin bond off the web too)

I am not much of an expert here and NInya has a long show crop but I have been told to post her until she at least 5 months old and I saw some 6 month olds at the show yesterday with tape on ears before they showed so it is definatly a long term- long healing process. Ninya is standing at least 1 day now but I was also told that if you let them flop- you give yourself and extra week of tape so she get out to the tape in the AM and then taped up again that night (after about 5 -6 days taped).

Not sure what I did wrong to not get my URL listed. Search Semper Fi Boxers and go to their taping area. Also- just do a search on taping boxer ears on googgle and you find a lot.
