Mali is scheduled to have surgery tomorrow to have a small lump on her neck removed. There is a strong possibility that it is a mast cell tumor, but we won't know for sure until the pathology report comes back. If you have a moment, please send Mali some positive healing vibes. She is my precious little Boxer girl and I worry about her.

Mali's surgery went well and she is resting at home. It is very strange to have a calm, subdued Mali in the house. Oscar is confused by her behavior and is avoidiing her. She is sleepy and a little loopy. :D They frequently sleep in a heap, but Oscar selected a dog bed in a different room this time. The vet will get the lab report next week. I am hoping so hard that it is nothing serious.

We got the best news from the vet today. Mali's lump was not a mast cell tumor, it was a histiocytoma. She's a little old for those, but I am so relieved we were not dealing with a MCT. Now I just have to figure how to keep her neck incision bandaged, how to keep her calm and quiet, how to keep Oscar from licking her, how to get rid of all the new gray hairs (not her, me)...
