My sister's boston terrier, Tippy, is going in for surgery on Monday, Oct. 16 to have a golf-ball sized lump/tumor removed from her mammary gland. (Tippy is my Roxi's bestest friend.) The vet believes it is nothing to be concerned about since it does not seem to be attached to anything. The poor girl is 10 and I am nervous for my niece! We are all hoping that the vet is right and it is nothing and sweet Tippy walks away from this with a fabulous "tummy-tuck"! Wish her luck!

(Here's a pic of her trying on her Halloween costume!)

Sending lots of healing and positive vibes for Tippy - hope her surgery goes well and she has a speedy recovery. She is a little doll! lovicon

Thanks everyone for the positive vibes and good thoughts! Tippy made it through surgery with no trouble. We are all very relieved and are anxiously waiting for Tippy to come home tomorrow afternoon. Roxi and Tippy's sister, Annie, have been pacing the house all day looking for her and moping about when they find she is still not home. We have all been moping around a bit. We are all so used to a three-ring circus, not a two-ring one!
Thanks again everybody!

Update

Tippy came home yesterday afternoon. She looked much worse than we thought she would (drain tubes, etc.) However, Tippy's spirits are high and has been good about taking it easy. Roxi on the other hand, has been throwing up and seems to be uncomfortable with the whole situation. She paced all day Monday but had a healthy appetite. Roxi has always been on the sensitive side in stressful situations. Is it possible that she is just that concerned for Tippy?

Glad to hear Tippy is home and recovering - hope she's as good as new very soon!! Poor Roxi! I firmly believe that she could very well be stressing out over Tippy's situation - I've been reading more and more about how stress can affect an animals wellbeing. It makes sense to me. I hope both your girls are feeling much better very soon.
