Indy's mom

On Tuesdays we have dog classes. Indy sits out the first two classes because I assist. But then he gets to participate for the CGC and versatility classes, he loves it. He passed CGC long ago, but the brushing up is always good!

I never know what to expect from him though. Last night was a prime example. We were in the versatility class. Doing something simple and basic and that he has done many, many times. Start from a sit/stay. I'm across the room, call him to come, when he is half way I tell him to down, and then in a minute to front. He's very good at this and has been for a looooong time. Last night he acted as though he had never heard any of those commands except the sit/stay. We went through this four...FOUR times!!!! I kid you not! foolicon When I would go up to him and put him into position he would do his classic squeal and flailing about, as though I was skinning him alive. That got everyones attention while the trainer assured everyone that Indy is just a bit of a dramatic guy. This went on for the entire session.

Today I got home from work, thought I'd give it a whirl at home again just to prove to myself that I'm not nuts. He not only followed the commands at once, he just about pranced through them! wackicon. Silly dog. He got lots of loving. I'm going to go in the other room now and start looking for where I lost my marbles.

I think Indy wanted to be the "class clown" for the day!! Crash sometimes does this in training class, he tests me. Then when I ignore him he starts to whine sooooooo loud for a few minutes. He gets all the other dogs rowled up....their so silly foolicon

Or maybe he wanted to be part of the first two classes.....I'll show you

BTW...a few weeks ago, we learned the sit/stay......come and then down in the middle of the come. Crash caught on so quick...never thought of that exercise before!!!

Do you think someone switched your dog at the beginning of class  because we all know Indy would never act like that

I think simmons is right... Indy was just mad he did not get to be in the first 2 classes!

Glad Indy showed you today that he really does know what to do when you ask it :) Hope your next class goes a little better.

This dog sooooo knows how to push all of my buttons. I thought Todd (the trainer) was going to loose it, laughing at him. He has known Indy since he was a pup, had Indy in puppy classes, obedience classes and is his trainer as he runs the doggy day care. He knows this dog and what he is capable of, probably far better than I!

That's alright, my kids aren't home to make me look silly anymore, I guess it's Indiana's turn to give it a go. foolicon

There were days in class when both my dogs would misbehave with Foreman it was the other male in the class that had the effect on him since there were only 2 he would not do a down with the male there no matter how hard aI tried because he didn't to be submissive but had no problems doing it when the male wasn't ther
