Oscar has been a little down in the dumps lately so I decided to give him a little special treatment. I have been looking into taking him to some local nursing homes to walk around and cheer up the residents so I did a little trial run to see how he would do in a strange home like setting. I took him to work with me for a few hours on New Years eve, I work for the state and the office was empty except for myself and 2 other girls. He made me so proud. He just walked from office to office popping in to say hello and get his butt rubbed and then would back to my office and lay down, so well behaved. The girls fell in love with him and he fell in love with them. He is truly a ladies man! Sorry to brag but I'm having a proud momma moment. I think he will do great at the nursing home, does anyone do any charity like worth with their baby?

When I was younger my mom used to bring our dogs to the nursing home while she worked there. The residents absolutely LOVED it!!

I was going to with Harley to get insurance here we have a therapy dog program through St Johns Ambulance and they weren't doing it till the following spring but Harley got sick before he had the chance the same people that run this are my obedience trainers so we are going to train Cooper to do this since he is Harleys nephew and has the same dispostion Ruby is also a good candidate Foreman is a bit weary of strangers, you should check out a therapy dog program in your area

The residents must have been so happy. Mine went once to a gym where they played and had fun with some handicapped children. The children loved it and the dogs were so gentle. One of the children was in a walker ,it intrigued Zoe so much that she just followed him around. I know what you mean a proud Mommy moment.

My Gran's in a nursing home, i think it's great they allow dogs in there as it cheers my gran, the residents and the staff up no end. When i take thai to see my gran in i don't see him for ages, one of the girls who works there and is besotted by him just takes him off me and does the rounds.
Seems like our little furballs are a lot more than just pets, Keep up the good work everyone :)
