Our boy, Rocky, had to have emergency surgery today. It appears he ate something that caused him distress. We took him to the 24 hour emergency vet at 7:00 this morning. They did an x-ray and found metal and some sort of ball that was indecipherable. They had to go in and perform a gastrectomy and they said he could have a perforation in his bowels. He's been in surgery over 2 hours and I am beside myself with worry. I called the vet a little while ago and they wouldn't tell me anything. They said the doctor was closing him up and would call us. Rocky is such a sweet puppy and only 1-1/2 year old. I'm so afraid that we are going to lose him. Please send happy thoughts and prayers Rocky's way. I'll let you know what happens.

Rocky is out of surgery. The surgery took over two hours. He had a dime, a rock and a pair of panties in his belly along with some other things that they couldn't figure out. The doctor said that he had a raging infection in his belly and he is on two different antibiotics. The doctor said that he also had a perforation in his upper intestine and he fixed it. He is not out of the woods and the next 24 hours are critical. I am hoping to go see him tomorrow. The doctor also said the incision in his belly is 12 inches long! I'm still so worried about him.

Hang in there Gauge and I are senting healing vibes. Just went through stomach surgery too. I know how worried you are and scared too. Keep us posted.
