Debo eats Nutro Large Breed Puppy Lamb/Rice when we met the other Boxer couple, their dog was on Purina Puppy Chow and their dog's coat was a little softer and shinier than Debo's ~ she said she added one cooked egg to her baby's diet and yogurt. Our rottie/lab friend in Tucson also feeds Puppy Chow and her coat is AWESOME - of course she has that long wavy black hair

Do you really think it's the puppy chow? I have to think it's the egg...does anybody feed Nutro Lg Breed but switched from another kind such as Max - was their a difference in coat? Just curious.

My guys are not puppy's but I feed them Nutro Natural High Energy. I also give them in the morning a pet tab, brewers yeast with garlic pills, linatone supplement for their coat and yogurt. They have a great shiny soft coat. Maybe between everyone's suggestions you will come up with the right receipe for your puppy.

Harley has a beautiful, shiny, healthy coat and we feed him Nutro for Large Breed Dogs. With it we mix in one of two mixtures (we alternate for variety). One mixture (which we nuke) is lean, ground beef mixed with two eggs, and some cottage cheese. The second mixture is liver and egg which we also nuke. With both mixtures we add a tblsp. of yogurt twice a day. We also give him Vitamin E capsules and a vitamin supplement which consists of Omega 2 and 3 fish oils. This high protein diet keeps Harley's coat beautiful.

My Boxer, billy, has bakers Complete (I don't know if you get that in the USA). His coat is shiny but not soft in the way that a longer coat could be. he doesn't get anything else. Our Rottie pup (7mths) has a raw egg for breakfast, Bakers Complete for lunch, and then tripe and pasta for tea. His coat is longer than a Boxer and a bit wavy on his back, and it's shiny and soft. So maybe it is the egg.
