Searched at the movies

just thought id let everyone know how ridiculous this piracy thing is getting.

Last night my bf and I went to the Ottawa premier of Blade Trinity (amazing movie btw) and on the way into the theatre, our bags were checked, we were searched and they passed one of those metal detector wand thingys over us to check if we had recording devices. How sad is that? Bah!

It's very sad, but they are probably doing it because all the people making "bootleg dvds". I have to admit that I bought a couple a few years ago...they were such bad quality...I will never buy any again. I'll either see it at the movies or wait until it comes out on cable.

Someone at Thanksgiving dinner said she travelled to China twice in the past year for work. The first time she bought 15 DVDs for around 80 cents apiece. Of course, they were mostly bootlegged movies and she said onle 2-3 were event viewable!
