Hi,

I have a 4 months old boxer puppy. We feed her half kibble and half home cooking, just to get started. She'd been on this (Sold Gold) kibble for about 2 weeks before we started home cooking and she was fine. Now, her poo is really mushy and liquidy. I've only made one meal so far - chicken quarters and bones (cooked and mashed), zucchini, apples, tomatoes, chicken gizzards, and some egg shell powder for calcium. No grains of any sort. We've been home cooking about two/one and a half weeks now. Is it just the change? Or should I add potatoes? I do find her food has a layer of grease and fat at the top from the chicken - could it be that?

Anyway, I appreciate any and all help! :)

The food you are making is too rich, has too many ingredients (vegetables), and has way too much fat. Moreover, you should never give cooked bones to a dog. Skim off any extra fat from the homemade food.

I would put the pup on a bland diet for a week, then slowly introduce one vegetable at a time to see what your dog is reacting to.
