Boxer Buddy
I have a boxer Zeus who is just about 15 weeks now... and the last couple days...ive noticed that his nose gets super cold to the touch. I haven't ever experienced that with another dog and just curious if that's normal. It's not constant, throughout the day, but i just wonder if somethings causing that, or if it's okay. He doesn't act any different, plays, eats, drinks.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be going on?

thanks in advance.

Cold wet noses are typical on a puppy! :) No worries! Their noses tend to change with the temperature they are in! There are actually a lot of myths that warm noses are a sign of illness. However, that's not always true either.

Here's a little article my vet gave to me.

The temperature and moisture level of a dogs nose will vary throughout the day. Your dog uses its nose to help cool itself, so if your dog is hot then it will sweat (and lick) its nose so that the evaporating moisture helps cool it down. If you touch its nose at this time it will be cold and wet. If your dog feels like its at the correct temperature, then its nose will feel dry and warm. It is, however, unusual for a dogs nose to be hot and dry, this is sometimes a sign of illness.
