I was wondering if anyone could help me. We recently added a new addition to our family, Holly. She has been trying to pounce on our other dog and I was wondering if anyone knew what I could do to stop her from doing this. She is just trying to play but, our other dog does not know she is.
Thank you in advance,

Honestly, I don't know how you can teach a puppy that trying to play with another dog isn't good. How does the other dog react? Sometimes, an older dog can teach the puppy better than we can. As long as the other dog isn't agressive towards the puppy, I would let it go and see what happens. The other dog may "teach" the puppy that this is not something he enjoys by warning the puppy. I know my older dog taught our puppy what she would allow him to get away with. If the older dog becomes agressive towards the puppy and you fear he might harm puppy, then I would step in and try to puppy from annoying him until they are used to one another. :)

I agree with kayboxer. When My Sophie went to the dog park, she met an 11 yr old Keeshhound named Samual.....well she was a bit over playfull with him and her gave her a little snap. she became submissive and they were fine, she still gives her "boyfreind " and extra kiss or two, but if she gets to rough with the play on the old guy, he lets her know.

Well Angel (our older dog) growls at Holly to let her know to leave her alone. I hope that is all it will come to! I have been trying to intervine but I think I will leave them alone unless it gets rough.

Dogs can fix it better than us. If the puppy get too out of hand he will be put in his place by the older dog.
