puppy or large breed puppy

Our 3 month old boxer puppy Larry is on blue buff puppy food and doing fine on it. I was told to put him on a large breed puppy food. Any advice and what about totw all life stages for a puppy.

The boxer is actually a medium-sized breed, not a large breed, so generally they do not need large breed puppy food. However if your puppy came from oversized boxer parents and you expect that your pup will exceed 80-90 lbs when full grown (which is not uncommon in the US), I would consider that to be large and in that case I think a large breed puppy food would be acceptable.

Any food marked "All Life Stages" is just that, suitable for any age.

Charlie had Large breed puppy food, but ONLY because his father was GIANT and was 95lbs and still trim and fit. Charlie is 80 lbs full grown.
