Boxer Insane
Hey everyone. This year has been a big one in my family. One nephew got engaged. Another one had a baby. He was a little early and was a C-section, but a big boy at 9 lbs. 1 oz.! He is healthy and adorable and a whole week old today!
Now, for the prayers part. My mom is going in for surgery on Monday for a lumpectomy to remove breast cancer. They found it early and believe they got most, if not all when they did the biopsy, but they want to make sure they get any that might be in the surrounding tissue. The biopsy left a lot of bruising, so I am sure the lumpectomy is going to be even more uncomfortable. They are up in the air about doing radiation treatment after surgery, but I think that will depend on the what they find during surgery. Either way, afterwards she will go on low dose chemo therapy.
My mom is 76 years old so this is going to be a lot for her body to handle. She is a little older than her mother was when she died from breast cancer, so you can imagine how unnerving this is for us. One advantage is my mother has her annual mammogram so that cancer can be caught early. My grandmother didn't have one until after she told my mom she had a lump, which was months after she had noticed it.
So for those of you that pray, if you could please include my mom in them. For those who believe is sending positive energy, we will take that too. Thanks in advance.
