Ugh! Vegas is totally potty trained (he's 7 months old), he rings the bell, but mostly we take him out when it's been a while since his last pee - we don't 100% trust him, and here's why:

On 2 occasions we've come in from the dog park or a walk where he pees to his heart's content only to have him pee in the house! It's not like he hides it either, once he just started peeing right in front of me!!?

As I say, it's only happened twice but it's sooo soul destroying. Just when you think you can trust him and he lets us down like that.

Is he getting into territorial age? He doesn't cock his leg so I don't think he's marking.

Any ideas?

Completely Boxer Crazy
When my dog was your dog's age he would go without any accidents until we thought he was housebroken then he would do it again. It was not that he wanted to upset me, he just could not hold. I got too confident and thought that he could hold it and did not do good job on supervising him enough. A couple of months later then I knew he was really housebroken. Nowadays he will come to tell me if he has to go out. I realize also that after dog run he needs to go out every hour for the next four hours. In the park it is always hot and he always drinks a lot of water.
Good luck!

I know where you are coming from - Mambo does the same kind of thing. I find it more surprising rather than frustrating. I just don't know where it is coming from when he has access to outdoors all the time and 98% of the time he goes outside and the other 2% he will go on the floor right there in front of you????? It is almost like he can't be bothered going the few extra steps to get outside. I have had many dogs but none that have had similar toileting habits. From what I have read on this site it seems fairly common amongst boxers..... gotta love em!!!
