possible puppy mill pet store? let me know what you think

hey all go this website, this pet supply/puppy store is right down the road from me and I just found out that they sell puppies there. I want to call and see where they get their pups from, but don't want to "attack" them, ... yet. I don't really know what qualifies as puppy mill puppies and wanted to go by and look at their supplies while checking out the store. It doesn't look to bad, but I have no clue where these little cuties come from, there is a boxer pup there though... we are getting ours tomorrow from a breeder locally and couldn't be more excited! let me know what you think... go to

just called them... couldn't wait for a reply... the "girl" (sounded young) on the phone said that they get their puppies from breeders in Canada, Oklahoma, and Iowa. I have heard about alot of puppy mills in Iowa and OK. Is there anything that I can do to research into where they get their puppies?

Well it looks a little sketchy to me. They're cute but to have so many different breeds for sale and i don't know of ANY reputable breeder that would sell their pups to a store. The boxer is gorgeous though. I think your suspicion is correct though, I may be totally wrong and they may have gotten the pups from a reputable breeder but it sure doesn't look like it. I'd be suspicious of any store selling puppies.

Is there anything that I can do! i feel so bad for the little guys because this situation angers me so! However, I guess it may not be as bad as I think it is, but Oklahoma and Iowa I have heard are BIG puppy mill places. I wish I could investigate this more!

Just the fact that they say they have worked with "hybrid" breeds tells me this is just another business out to make a buck on selling puppies. No responsible breeder would sell puppies to a store.

It seems they are doing quite well, since this is an expansion of their original business, so they probably could care less where the puppies come from, as long as they're making money on them. I really don't have any advice on what you could do personally, except make sure no one you know ever goes there.

This is a broker, pure and simple. They support puppy mills and irresponsible breeders by being a 3rd party to sell their puppies.

Thing of them as Flesh Peddlers :(

i agree...

I wonder what congress would do if i started popping out skin babies every 10 months and selling them to baby gap so they could re-sell...
