Please help terrible GAS

First let me start by saying I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place but I wasn't sure where else to put it. Chance's gas has gotten so bad it actually woke me up this morning and the whole house smelled. I have been feeding him Wellness Whitefish and Sweet potato formula for his allergies which seemed to have helped his itchies but the gas has continually gotten worse. Is there anything I can give him for it or do I need to switch foods again? I know boxers are prone to gas but this is just out of control, any help would be appreciated, thanks so much for your time

They do make gas tablets especially for dogs. I always keep them on hand. Sometimes it will smell as though a skunk has escaped somewhere in my house! Those tablets are lifesavers sometimes!

Have you tried natural yoghurt? Biff has a dessertspoonful a day and it really does help.

Ali was really stinky until I switched to Canidae. A boxer friend of mine had problems with allergies and switched to Canidae too. Hope this is of some help.

Maggie had really nasty gas until I switched her to Canidae as well. She also gets a spoonful of nonfat plain yogurt a day and doesn't have any gas. good luck!

Laila had terrible gas every day...then I started to use Prozyme sprinkled on her food with each meal ...it took about a week and then the gas decreased about 90%..now if she has gas we comment because it is such a rare event! Hope it lasts.....Barbara

all my dogs get yogurt in thier food and the gas is not as bad as when they didn't....GOOD LUCK

Question about yogurt/prozyme

My boxers have the same gas problem and they are on canidae too. I will definitely have to try some of the remedies suggested but had some questions:

The yogurt you are referring to - is it just plain store bought natural/plain yogurt???? And just 1 tsp a day?

Also, where do you buy the prozyme?

Does one work better than the other?

Thank you all so much for your replies. We had Chance on Canidae but after about a month he simply refused to eat it, so we switched to the Wellness brand and he hasn't looked back. I will try some of the suggestions posted here and hopefully we can get some relief. Kayboxer, can you please give me an idea of where I find the tablets you spoke of, and Biff what brand of yogurt do you use? I have tried Dannon in the past and it doesn't agree with Chances' belly. Thanks again guys you really are AWESOME
